Rashid came to our Resource Center and asked to speak to Sean, our program manager. Rashid admitted that he suffered from alcohol use disorder and could not stop drinking. The two talked for a long time about his situation and worked to create a plan. Rashid said he had never been to rehab but considered it a couple of times. Sean tracked down information about RCA Earleville, an inpatient rehab facility, and gave Rashid’s info to a case manager there for a follow-up and intake. While Sean was on the phone, Rashid left. He seemed on the fence about wanting to go to treatment. Sean hoped that when Rashid was ready, he would return — and if he did, we’d be there for him.
